Demolish illegal constructions in Hyderabad, orders KCR

Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Monday directed the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) to demolish the illegal constructions and if necessary, take the help of police.

He said in case of constructions without permission from GHMC, there was no need for any advance notice to initiate action. and also he said "In case of constructions that have permission but are built with deviation, they may be served notice before initiating action".

KCR has further indicated to initiate action to protect the Gurukul trust lands. He said that due to indifference of previous government the lands were under illegal occupation. Constructions have come up there without permission. He said that Telangana Government would ensure that without compromising, all these lands are restored back to government.

The Chief Minister held a review meeting in this regard with Deputy Chief Minister Mahmood Ali, Home Minister Nayani Narsimha Reddy, Excise Minister T Padma Rao and Transport Minister Mahender Reddy, GHMC officials and police officials were present in the meeting.
