Deputy Chief Minister of Telangana Mahmood Ali on Friday directed the officials to ensure that Haj pilgrims departing for holy journey from Hyderabad Embarkation Point do not face any difficulties.

Speaking to media persons after visiting the Haj House at Nampally and later the Haj Terminal of Rajiv Gandhi International Airport at Shamshabad, the Deputy CM expressed satisfaction over the arrangements made for the Haj Camp 2014 which commenced on Friday. He said elaborate arrangements have been for nearly 6,000 pilgrims who would be leaving for Haj 2014 in the next 10-12 days.

Mahmood Ali informed that this year Haj pilgrims have been exempted from payment of user charges at the RGAI and each pilgrim would be able to save Rs 1,950 this year. He said although the airport authorities gave 50% concession in user charges during previous years, last year they collected the entire amount. Although the then Kiran Kumar Reddy Government promised to refund the amount to the Haj pilgrims, it was not paid.
