Three persons, including two for love-related reasons, committed suicide since Tuesday night. A 35-year-old finance company employee committed suicide due to alleged harassment by his in-laws, while a 30-year-old software professional and a class IX student committed suicide at their houses due to failure in love.
In the first case, the victim was identified as B Uday Bhanu, 35, a resident of Ameerpet. Since the past three years, Uday has been living separately from his wife Leela Rani due to personal problems. On Tuesday evening, Uday was found hanging from the ceiling fan in his flat by roommates. In a suicide note, Uday stated that harassment from his in-laws was the reason for his suicide, S R Nagar inspector N Shankar said. Uday was also allegedly upset about his wife acting in a short film called 'Ahalya', but the inspector said that the victim did not mention anything about his wife in the suicide note. Police have registered a case under section 306 (Abetment to commit suicide) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and shifted the body for a post-mortem examination.
