CM KCR urges Tata Group to invest Rs.40,000 crore in Telangana

Telangana Chief Minister K.Chandrashekar Rao Friday requested the Tata Group to invest about Rs.30,000 to 40,000 crore for an integrated development of Hyderabad and making it a world-class smart city. Interacting with a delegation of Tata Group led by Tata Power CEO and managing director Anil Sardana, who called upon him at his office on Friday.

Chandra Sekhar Rao said them that Hyderabad had already been made ITIR Project Area and is home for many software firms. KCR emphasised the need for companies like Tata to take the lead to invest and develop the city as a world-class one in all aspects.

Assuring their group’s full cooperation, Anil Sardana proposed to strengthen the power sector in Telangana and offered to establish up to 1000 MW of thermal power project in the Telangana state, which would be able to produce power in the next two years.

The delegation also came forward to add solar power capacity and decentralise distribution generation solutions using solar power for rural areas.
